in the deceased’s actions in signing 6 different deeds as she worked through how to set up her estate planning.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Bryan Perez has asked if WLTA will write an amicus brief supporting his position in an appeal to the Supreme Court. The appellate court opinion, along with briefs are attached. Specifically, he feels that
our industry should be concerned that the courts are reviewing extrinsic evidence when considering the validity of a deed and not solely relying on a facially unambiguous, recorded deed in compliance with statute.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">My recommendation is that we decline this request. This situation involves a very specific set of circumstances, and I do not think the decisions made by the superior or appellant courts amount to a shift
in how conveyances are viewed. For our purposes, insurers can and do take into account extrinsic evidence to determine insurability.
