That is why sponsorships are critical to the success of these events. For example, sponsors gave over $30,000 in 2024 (see the attached list), and that allowed us to end in the black, comfortably (see the attached final income/expense tally). Idaho got almost $50,000 last year, and presumably ended in the black. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;mso-ligatures:none'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;mso-ligatures:none'>The point is that we basically have a pot of funds, and all expenses are paid from it. We can try to cut costs here and there, but it as long as we can expect support from ours sponsors, we probably needn’t focus on individual expenses.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;mso-ligatures:none'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;mso-ligatures:none'>We also don’t want to discourage golfers. They tend to be some of our members (including agency reps and agents) and vendors who use the opportunity for obvious reasons. We also want to get at least 20 golfers (harder to do nowadays) so the course can guarantee a shotgun start. (A shotgun start is where all golfers start at the same time on different holes, thus ensuring that they all finish at about the same time.
