[Conventioncommittee1] WLTA Convention Committee 2024

Good afternoon, WLTA Convention Committee. There are a number of matters to
settle, including membership. 

 

First, with Ashley now the WLTA Vice President she assumes the Chair
position for the Convention Committee. 

 

The current members are:

 

Ashley Callahan, Chair

Jim Blair (by virtue of being President, he will be a member of all
committees)

Craig Trummel (as President last year - no requirement to drop off)

Erin Stines

Meri Hamre

Sari-Kim Conrad

Paul Hofmann

George Peters

 

Other than Ashley, Jim and myself, the main question is: Do you all want to
remain as members? If not, let me and Jim know. 

 

Jim might want to send an email to the Board asking for other volunteers if
you are not interested for the coming year.

 

NOTE: I got a notice that three members were dropped from this distribtution
list: Paul, Sari Kim, and Meri. The message did not indicate if that was
because you elected to be removed from the listserv. I've added your names
back, just in case.

 

I would set a mutually agreeable Zoom meeting for at least 30 minutes to
discuss the main issues: location and dates.

 

Once the committee membership is finalized, we need to meet fairly soon to
select a location and dates for 2026, when we next host. Two years isn't
necessrily too soon. 

 

Once a venue is selected, we'll need to see if the dates we want are
available, and for the number of rooms we want to settle on. then I'll
arrance a contract to be signed.

 

p.s. - I've already expressed to some of you my preference for the venue,
and that would be Suncadia. We've been there twice before, and I think it
would check a lot of boxes.

 

Please respond to this email to let me know that you got it, and your
willingness to serve again this coming year.

 

We had another great convention - lots of compliments from attendes,
including the vendors, and we will want to do it again in two years!
