[Board1] FW: January 2026 OIC Meeting
Good morning,
I didn’t hear back from anyone regarding my email below.
The OIC would like to schedule a
Title 101 class
separate from the upcoming meeting with them and are
asking for dates for when we can provide the training
. I will also
need some volunteers to present the class
…
Please let me know if you any of you would be willing to participate in the class and feel free to throw out some dates.
In the meantime, it might be good to have some additional topics for the annual meeting on January 12
th
.
Please send any additional topics
to me and Maureen Pfaff as she will be the primary WLTA contact for this meeting.
Thank you,

January 2026 OIC Meeting
Good morning all,
I sent the meeting invitation for the OIC meeting on January 12
th
yesterday.
Here is the list of topics I had previously sent to the OIC for our meeting:
Clarification on marketing limitations.
The
Title Insurance Rules FAQ
was recently removed from the OIC website, and many title companies relied on it as a reference. Fresh or renewed guidance would be valuable.
Opportunity to provide or schedule a “Title Insurance 101” session
for the OIC, covering how the title insurance industry protects
consumers, risks associated with alternatives that do not offer the same protections, and how title insurance differs from other types of insurance.
Potential discussion of current rulemaking items
(acknowledging some may be resolved before we meet):
Clarifying rules on title insurer educational programs (R 2025-08)
Clarifying and updating minimum standards for claims handling (R 2025-05)
They would like to schedule a
Title 101 class
separate from this meeting and are
asking for dates
. I will also
need some volunteers to present the class
…
Please let me know if you any of you would be willing to participate in the class and feel free to throw out some dates.
In the meantime, it might be good to have some additional topics, and it wouldn’t hurt to reiterate how title insurance protects the consumer. They were also very interested in learning more about wire fraud
in one of our previous meetings.
Please send any additional topics
to me and Maureen Pfaff as she will be the primary WLTA contact for this meeting.
Thank you,

WIRE FRAUD WARNING
:
Email hacking and fraud are on the rise, with individuals impersonating trusted parties to provide alternate wire instructions and steal funds. Stay vigilant to prevent
wire fraud. To verify received wire instructions, immediately call your closing team using reliable contact information from independent sources like your sales contract or the Aegis Land Title Group website. Please exercise caution as we are not liable for
wires sent to incorrect bank accounts. Qualia Connect is our secure, online closing platform and is used by the top title and escrow companies in the country.
