[Agentmanagers1] FW: ALTA FinCEN TAN Alert
George Peters
execdirector at washingtonlandtitle.com
Fri Sep 26 16:26:07 PDT 2025
This email reminds us of the value of TAN for the industry. I'm sure we've
all heard about the impending implementation of the FinCEN reporting rule
for real estate transactions.
Those who work in the title insurance industry should be members of TAN, and
if not yet members should be encouraged to sign up. TAN will enable direct
communication with members of Congress, and the FinCEN rule is a prime
example of why that's important.
Please read this and remind your employees about signing up for TAN (if they
haven't already), and to log on to the TAN website to participate in the
campaign regarding the FinCEN rule, using the link that was set up the other
day (highlighted in yellow).
[NOTE: You may get more than one copy of this email due to overlapping
distribution lists.]

Subject: ALTA FinCEN TAN Alert
Good afternoon,
We wanted to send you a quick update on some Congressional efforts related
to FinCEN and ask for your help.
Representative Young Kim (R-CA) is leading a Congressional sign on letter to
FinCEN Director Andrea Gacki calling on her to delay implementation of the
FinCEN Real Estate Reporting Rule and work with the title industry to
address our concerns with the burden this rule place on our businesses. The
letter also calls for FinCEN to host roundtables across the country to
engage directly with title professionals about the rule. This is a great
opportunity to apply Congressional pressure on FinCEN to course correct!
This is where you and your members come in.
ALTA will be launching a Title Action Network (TAN) campaign tomorrow
morning, calling on title professionals to urge their member of Congress to
sign this letter. We need to make this one of the most impactful TAN
campaigns in recent memory - we have tremendous momentum to capitalize on!
1. Please make sure that all your members are active TAN members - they
can sign up or renew at www.alta.org/tan <http://www.alta.org/tan>
2. Encourage your members to Take Action and write to their member of
Congress. Here is the link to the TAN campaign that will launch tomorrow
morning at 9:00 AM ET:
https://alta.quorum.us/campaign/142323/
3. If you or your members have strong relationships with members of the
House of Representatives, please reach out and encourage them to sign this
letter. We are happy to provide you with any resources or information you
may need.
Attached are a few recent documents to ensure that you have seen them:
* ALTA's Letter for the Record for the 9/9/25 hearing with Dir. Gacki
* ALTA's letter to Dir. Gacki following up on her testimony
* ALTA's one pager on the FinCEN Rule
Thank you for your continued engagement and support of ALTA's efforts! We
believe that this letter has the potential to move the needle and push
FinCEN to delay this rule. We must push as hard as we can!
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or Kevin Cameron if you have any
questions.
Thank you,
Emily Tryon
